The meeting commenced with the opening prayer led by Clifford D'Souza and a welcome note by President Gilbert Mendonca. Secretary Felcita D’Souza read out the annual report featuring the events of the past year. Likewise, treasurer Roshni Lobo briefed the association members information on the financial statement. more 
SWAK educational aidShirva 28 June 2022:SWAK has been helping the less fortunate people in shirva in its continuous approach to assist them to get education and other basic fascilities.This year's school uniform distribution event has been organised on 28 June 2022 at Shirva St. Mary's high school premises.
SWAK representative Mr. Melwyn Aranha and our parish team has coordinated the aid distribution to 80 needy children having difficulties with their educational needs. Along with Swak president Gilbert Mendonca, committee members, Shirva Parish Priest Rev Fr. Lesly D'souza , Principal, Teachers and students were present during the Aid distribution. Shirva Parish Priest in his thanks giving note informed the students, about SWAK members contribution for sponsoring needy children and asked them to study well and thanked all swak members and their families. more 
SWAK Aid distrubution at shirvaShirva 29 May 2021:We are glad to announce our recent outreach to the poor and less fortunate during these difficult times at Shirva. We all know that due to existing strict COVID19 related restrictions many are facing various difficulties including basic necessities in India!
SWAK representative Mr. Melwyn Aranha and our parish has coordinated the aid distribution on 29th May 2021 to deliver the food items to 30 needy people in Shirva. Along with Shirva Parish officials, Parish Priest Rev Fr. Denis D’sa, Shirva PDO Mr. A.P Nayak, Panchayat officers, Shirva Police S.I Mr. Sanjeeva were present during the Aid distribution. SWAK had already joined hands with our Parish in distributing similar aid during last year which has helped many people.

Shirva Welfare Association Kuwait (SWAK), held its Annual General Body Meeting on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Harmony Hall - Salmiya, Kuwait.
The meeting commenced with the opening prayer led by Mr. Urban D’Souza & a welcome note by the President Mr. Alban D’Souza. Secretary Mrs. Lona D’Souza read out the annual report featuring the events of the past year. Likewise, treasurer Mrs. Roshni Lobo briefed the information on the financial statement of the Association to its members. President Alban D’Souza briefly updated the good work done by SWAK for the needy people during the troublesome phase of COVID-19 pandemic. The melodious event featured variety of lively enthralling melodious songs contributed by Konkani singers of the different generations Sangeeth Samrat Henry D’Souza, Yodeling King Melwyn Peris, Konkan Kalashree Claud D’Souza, Heartthrob of Konkani Prajoth D’Sa, multilingual singer Anitha Serrao D’Souza and ‘Mozo Thalo Gaithalo’ fame young talented singer Velita Lobo. They were supported by well-known comedian and public speaker Jerry Rasquinha, Rony D'Cunha, Jasmine D'Cunha, foot-tapping dances and rib-tickling comedy skits from professional actors of Konkani community.

The Event started with a prayer led by association Public Relation Officer Mr. Clifford D'Souza. SWAK President Mr. Alban D'Souza welcomed the gathering wholeheartedly. Twenty Four teams were participated in the scheduled League matches in 5 groups of the cricket tournament which started from March 24 till 13th April 2019. A total of 8 teams were qualified from the league matches and entered the knockout round (quarterfinal & semifinal)to secure their place in Grand Finale which was played On 26 April 2019.

SWAK celebrates annual feast with entertaining event
Kuwait, Feb 4: Shirva Welfare Association Kuwait (SWAK) under the presidentship of Alban D’Souza celebrated its patron feast (Vodlen Fest) at the Indian Community School Auditorium Khaitan on Friday February 2 from 6.30 pm onwards.
The programme commenced with Manohar Prabhu, MC of the day, welcoming the members and the guests, followed by a prayer by joint secretary Lona D'Souza. Committee members sung welcome song “Swagat Swagat” for which lyrics were written by Lancy Rodrigues and music was provided by music maestro Adrian Gomes. President of SWAK – Alban D'souza officially welcomed the entire guest and thanked all the members for their support. Pamboor 11 Nov 2017:SWAK President Mr. Alban D’Souza is presenting aid collection amount to MANASA during their 20th Anniversary event at MANASA Pamboor.
Shirva, Nov 8: On the occasion of the 20th founders’ day celebrations, members of Shirva Varado Samithi of Catholic Sabha visited mentally-challenged children’s school, ‘Manasa’ at Pamboor on November 6.
The school was started 20 years ago by the Shirva and Pangala units and later was handed over to Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh. Members of the Varado Samithi conducted various entertainment programmes for children at the school. Alban D’Souza, president of SWAK-KUWAIT of Shirva parish, conducted a mega event in Kuwait on 20 nov 2017 to aid the school during the Bi-decennial Project.Shirva Varado Samithi felicitated Alban D’Souza on the occasion. |
SWAK MOTTOThe prime motto of Shirva Welfare Association is to facilitate primary education for the poor children back in Shirva. There are many poor children who have to discontinue their studies due to the high costs and lack of funds in their family. Such students are aided from our SWAK education fund. On the other hand SWAK provides its members with assistance in times of need.

HistoryIn 1994 some of our dedicated Shirva Parishioners in Kuwait gathered together and came to a conclusion to help the needy and less fortunate people back in Shirva. After a careful study and organizing facts and figures we, decided to form an Association. Thus Shirva Welfare Association SWAK was formed in December 1994. Today SWAK has more than 200 members.

Kuwait: Alwyn D'Souza elected president of SWAK
Kuwait, Dec 10:Shirva Welfare Association of Kuwait (SWAK) elected new office-bearers for the year 2014-2015 during the recent annual general body meeting. Alwyn D’Souza is elevated to the post of president of SWAK from his earlier role of vice-president. Urban Noel D’Souza who earlier served as the president of SWAK twice, accepted to be the vice-president in order to lend his continued support and experience towards the progress of SWAK. SWAK shall be completing its 20th anniversary in 2014 which in itself is another milestone in its journey towards charity and social welfare. more

Kuwait, Apr 23: The executive committee members of Shirva Welfare Association Kuwait (SWAK), along with their families gathered at Caesars Dakshin Restaurant, Jleeb Shuyoukh, Kuwait on Tuesday April 22 to meet and greet the visiting bishop of Udupi diocese Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo. The bishop is in Kuwait on an invitation from Kuwait Canara Welfare Association of Kuwait (KCWA), which is scheduled to celebrate its 25th anniversary on Friday April 25. The programme started with a traditional thanksgiving prayer recited by SWAK gen. secretary Doris Lobo. In her prayer she thanked almighty God for giving such a wonderful opportunity to meet the bishop and exchange views personally. The dais was graced by SWAK president, Alwyn D'Souza who wholeheartedly welcomed Dr.Gerald Isaac Lobo along with Fr Noel Almeida, assistant parish priest, St Daniel Comboni parish, Kuwait, Lawrence D’Souza, proprietor of Caesars Group of Companies and honorary member of SWAK, along with his wife Ann D’Souza and son Ralf D’Souza, general manager of Caesars Group of Companies. more

Shirva Welfare Association Kuwait has unveiled the teaser for the upcoming “Wilson Olivera Nite” – a Konkani Musical extravaganza slated to be held in Kuwait on October 20, 2017 at American International School, Salmiya (Maidan Hawally) Kuwait.
Poster of the event was symbolically released to media by SWAK honorary member Mr. Lawrence DSouza (owner of Caesars group) in his office premises.
He handed over the charge of the event to musician Kiran Gonsalves and wished the Association a grand success in advance.
The proceeds of this event shall be provided as a charity to Manasa Rehabilitation & Training Centre (A residential school for the specially abled children) as a sincere gesture of SWAK, being a prelude to silver jubilee completions of the Association.
SWAK President Alban DSouza anticipated the whole hearted support of everybody associated with SWAK for this noble cause and to make this event a grand success. This function was graced by the committee members of the association.

The evening programme commenced with the Introduction and welcoming of Mr. Melvin Rodrigues master of the ceremony for the day by committee member Mr. Robert Mathias. Committee member Mr. Urban D'Souza lead the prayer followed by melodious welcome song “swagat swagat” sung by Committee members for which lyrics were written by Mr. Lancy Rodrigues and music was provided by music maestro Mr. Adrian Gomes. more
Kuwait, Nov 26: Mr.Alban Francis D'Souza has been elected as the new president of Shirva Welfare Association Kuwait (SWAK) for the year 2017-2018 during the annual general body meeting held on 2 Dec 2016 at Sara complex Salmiya in Kuwait.
Earlier, after the welcome prayer by Mr. Felix Serrao, outgoing president Mr.Alwyn D'Souza welcomed the members present at the AGM and thanked for the excellent support provided by them and expressed his happiness over the association getting stronger day by day. General secretary Mrs. Doris Veena Lobo presented the annual report and treasurer Cleven Fernandes presented the financial report of the year.
The new office bearers were elected for various positions. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the vice-president and a delicious buffet breakfast. more
