Kuwait:. Although SWAK was established with its prime motto being primary education for the poor children in Shirva, over the years SWAK has put in more efforts to raise funds, as a result of which other projects listed below are supported.
Saud Sandesh: 'Saud Sandesh' is a quarterly magazine published by the Shirva Parish for private circulation only, for the Parishners in and outside Shirva in order to give all the local and international news of Shirva Parish and the Parishners. After having started to publish the magazine in the early 90’s the high printing and publishing cost was unable to be met by the funds collected from the local Parishners. Hence SWAK decided to bear a major portion of the cost in order to keep the 'Saud Sandesh' magazine issues being published and so is SWAK involved in giving financial aid for the magazine production. Poor Children’s Education Fund: SWAK having its prime motto which is to provide primary education for the poor children in Shirva, SWAK executive committee in its normal course of conduct allots a major part of its budget towards the 'poor children’s education fund’. Although this financial aid was initially given to poor students from class 1 to class 10 only, it is also presently supporting the pre-degree and degree students in Shirva. The catholic institution heads in Shirva in co-ordination with the SWAK representative in Shirva select the students who are in need of this financial aid. Accordingly as decided by the managing committee the amount is used to provide scholarship, school uniforms, books etc. Aid for students in professional colleges: SWAK has made available a part of its budget to support the poor children of Shirva Parish who get a merit seat in any professional college and are unable to meet the tuition fees. Such students will be partially of fully supported with the tuition fees in order for the student not to discontinue his / her future studies. SWAK member’s death benefit: In case of death of a SWAK member a portion of the SWAK’s budget has been allotted in order to give initial support to his / her family. This benefit is available for members who have paid their annual subscription regularly. SWAK emergency fund: SWAK has allotted a portion of its budget for an emergency fund in order to give financial support for a member in case of extreme emergencies which cannot be overcome by him / her. But this support is available to the members with the involvement of a guarantor who will also have to be a SWAK member. Electric connection for a poor family: SWAK has also been helping in the installation of electric power connection for a poor family in Shirva.
